Running a trip: the skipper guide
Everything a skipper needs: planning a route, getting the crew aboard, and putting your boat on the map automatically. Roughly in the order you will want it.
Starting a trip
Name it, give it dates, and add the boats. Everything else can be filled in later, and the crew can be invited before the route exists.
Planning the route
Draw the passage on the chart, add stopovers where you will spend a night, and let the leg distances tell you whether the week is realistic.
Crew and invites
One link invites the whole crew. Add names yourself for people who will never open the app: they still count for the cost split.
Boats
A boat persists across trips and belongs to its owner. A trip can run several, and each sailor is assigned to the one they are sleeping on.
Location tracking
Position sharing is opt-in per person and runs only while the trip is under way. A crew member can send positions from their phone or from their own Dawarich instance.
The logbook
Record the passage as it happens. Entries sit alongside the track, so the trip has a record of what was actually sailed.
Costs and settling up
Costs go in as they happen, split across the whole crew, one boat, or a few people. At the end Skippr says who pays whom.
Showing the trip to somebody outside it
A route can be shared read-only by link, without giving anyone access to the trip, the crew or the money.
